In the installations of Elise van der Linden, moving lightprojections are combined with spatial elements. The art offers an experience in time and space. "My work represents the passing of time and the sequence of happenings." sais Van der Linden. "You can also see it as moving paintings, where the audience becomes part of the artwork by standing in the middle of it."
Van der Linden is fascinated by clyclical processes, because of the connection of elusive moments, wich, because of its repetition becomes tangible in a certain way. "The artworks represent things wich seem to be irrevocably gone, but are returning every time, as in a ritual."
Van der Linden calls herself a romanticist. She is constantly searching for the lost time. With art she want's to escape from the truth, that things that have happened, will never return.
"Espessially my childhood, the time that I played in the fields, gardens and forests, is a period that I try to keep alive with my work. Then, time really seemed to be endless."
